With Sobin a'r Smaeliaid at the height of their popularity, in 1993 demos were received from the talented and enigmatic composer, Emyr Huws Jones. The late Les Morrison, the versatile and talented producer, was engaged to produce a special collection of songs - Dyddiau Di-gymar. Les decided that the well-known sound of Sobin a’r Smaeliaid did not suit the emotional creations of Ems, so he set about gathering together a number of world-famous session musicians in Sain Studio, Llandwrog. The album was released in 1994 with an extended promotional tour. The CD was popular from the word go and tens and thousands of copies were sold. During that first tour, some of the musicians suggested that it would be a good idea to remain as a unit and form a permanent band. And that was how Bryn Fôn a’r Band was born.
After twenty years of non-stop gigging, some musicians have left and have been replaced by new ones. The current members are:-
